We are supporting a confidential long-term client with a requirement for an experienced Engineering Geologist or Geotechnical Engineer to join a tailings dam construction project in Indonesia. This is a site-based role with a 3-weeks-on / 3-weeks-off FIFO roster, requiring strong technical capability and a hands‐on approach to quality assurance and material sourcing.
About the Role
You'll be embedded on‐site for approximately 12 months, supporting construction activities through QA/QC, borrow material investigations, and general geotechnical oversight. The dam design has been completed by TTC, and the project is now entering a critical delivery phase.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct borrow searches and assess material suitability for dam construction.
* Oversee QA/QC processes and ensure compliance with design specifications.
* Provide geotechnical input to site teams and contractors.
* Maintain detailed records and contribute to reporting and documentation.
* Act as a technical point of contact for construction quality matters.
About You
* Degree qualified in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline.
* Experienced in tailings dam construction and QA/QC processes.
* Strong technical judgement and ability to work independently on‐site.
* Willingness to work in remote conditions on a FIFO roster.
* Able to mobilise quickly, work visa processing will take 23 weeks.
