Your new company
Our client is based in the heart of the Gold Coast and, due to company growth, they require an experienced and driven Collections Officer. This is a full-time role, to join their team and manage a ledger of loan accounts in arrears to keep delinquency within acceptable levels, mitigate risk and reduce losses to the business. This role has varied responsibilities and will require a determined individual with the ability to work in a collaborative environment to support management.
Your new role
As a Collections Specialist, you'll manage a portfolio of late-stage recoveries, using your exceptional communication and negotiation skills to resolve outstanding balances. You'll work directly with customers, playing a crucial role in the commercial recoveries process.
Your key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
* Conduct outbound and inbound collection calls at high volumes
* Successfully identify customers experiencing financial hardship
* Recommend alternative collection activities, such as hardship plans, repossessions, field calls, or legal action
* Conduct investigations and skip-tracing
* Take end-to-end accountability for accounts assigned to you
* Understand and comply with all regulatory requirements and quality standards
* Maintain strong attention to detail and integrity in all tasks
What you'll need to succeed
* Strong customer service skills, with experience assisting and responding to customers over the phone or face-to-face
* Experience in a collection's environment, particularly supporting customers in financial difficulty
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and navigate challenging conversations
* A solutions-focused approach and the ability to make informed decisions to resolve a customer's financial situation
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet expectations
