Genus Infrastructure (NSW) is seeking applications for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team Immediate start available, with a comprehensive handover provided.

The Project: HumeLink East
Genus Infrastructure (NSW), in partnership with Acciona, is proud to deliver the HumeLink East project—part of a $1.4 billion joint venture. This major initiative involves constructing 237 km of 500 kV transmission lines between Bannaby and Wondalga in NSW, along with enhancements to the Bannaby substation.
This project is a vital component of the broader HumeLink development, designed to boost grid capacity, support Snowy 2.0, and enable renewable energy integration across NSW. Construction commenced in early 2025, with completion expected between 2026 and 2027. It will create approximately 1,600 jobs and invest $2 million in local communities, with a strong focus on environmental stewardship and stakeholder collaboration.
The Role
Based at the Joint Venture office near Haymarket, the Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in managing project costs, preparing estimates, and ensuring financial control throughout the lifecycle of this major transmission project. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong commercial acumen and experience in large-scale infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for project works
* Monitor and report on project financial performance, including cost control and variance analysis
* Assess and manage subcontractor claims, variations, and progress payments
* Conduct risk and value management exercises to optimise project outcomes
* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and industry standards
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to support delivery objectives
Essential Criteria
* Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within large-scale infrastructure or transmission projects
* Strong understanding of cost planning, contract administration, and procurement processes
* Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
* High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
* Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., CostX, Excel, or similar)
* Knowledge of Australian standards and legislation related to construction and commercial management
