Job Description
Bring your creative flair, willingness to learn, and hard work to our hotel in Thornleigh! This role is ideal for an aspiring and passionate Commis/Demi Chef eager to push their limits, test their grit, and make our hotel’s kitchen their own.
You will lead a small team of chefs and cooks to maximize the breakfast buffet and all-day bistro offerings; working alongside other Department Heads to achieve common goals. This position offers an excellent opportunity to learn how to manage your own kitchen with support and mentorship from an experienced and passionate Accor General Manager.
This role provides endless opportunities for growth within an Accor hotel. It exemplifies the philosophy of “you get out what you put in.”
What you will be doing:
1. Building and mentoring your team
2. Using your creative flair to design an à la carte dinner menu
3. Preparing food daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner bistro dining
4. Managing food ordering and stock control, coupled with cost management
5. Maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards
6. Upholding Food Safety Program standards
7. Building rapport with customers
8. Continuing your professional development
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
1. Minimum 1 year of experience in the culinary field; previous supervisory or management experience preferred
2. Proven ability to meet targets related to guest satisfaction, financials, team management, and standards compliance
3. Certifications in Hospitality or culinary management
