Australian-owned and operated, our client has a long-standing reputation for quality and reliability and is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to contribute to the next phase in the company’s development.
About the role
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this role makes a critical contribution to the company’s productivity and profitability. As Manufacturing Manager, you will head up all production and assembly operations. Whilst no two days will be the same, a typical day will include:
Reviewing daily production schedules to optimise labour and machines
Briefing the production and assembly teams
Coaching your team leaders to manage their operators skillfully
Assessing volumes, rejects and product quality
Delivering CI projects to improve productivity, reduce costs and enhance quality
Championing a safety-first culture
Liaising closely with warehousing and despatch
Collaborating with colleagues on planning, safety and maintenance matters
There’ll be plenty of problem-solving, opportunities for innovation and product development, and more to turn your hand to with this role.
About you
You are a seasoned manufacturing professional with around 10 years’ leadership experience, preferably in the plastics sector. You will bring:
An energetic, hands-on approach so that you gain first-hand knowledge of all manufacturing operations including rotomoulding and thermoforming
A track record of successfully leading and inspiring your team
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to implement effective solutions
Proven experience in developing and implementing manufacturing strategies that drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing principles, processes, technologies, and continuous improvement methodologies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
Commitment to and knowledge of WHS and practices within the manufacturing industry
Ability to work under pressure
Tertiary qualifications will be well regarded but are not essential.
