Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Role
At Sigma, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Canberra, ACT. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft engines, ancillary components, accessories, and electrical systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and avionics systems, with experience on A220 or Dash 8 or turboprop aircraft. They must also hold a Trade Certificate IV (Mechanical and Avionics) and a CASA or EASA License.
* Dismantling, inspecting, testing, repairing, and reassembling aircraft engines, ancillary components, accessories, and electrical systems;
* Conducting routine pre-flight checks and inspections of engines and equipment;
* Maintaining thorough records of actions taken;
* Assembling components, parts, and subassemblies of aircraft engines and equipment, and;
* Testing, maintaining, replacing, and upgrading aircraft safety equipment.
Shifts will be primarily a rotating 4 on 4 off shift roster shift. We are looking for candidates who can commit to flexible working arrangements and are eligible and available to work in Canberra, ACT.
Essential Requirements
* 3+ years' experience on A220 or Dash 8 or turboprop aircraft;
* Trade Certificate IV (Mechanical and Avionics) & CASA or EASA Licenced;
* Highly skilled and competent in aircraft mechanical system troubleshooting, repair, and installation of mechanical components;
* Strong team player;
* Ability to follow supervisory direction;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
* Consistent positive and proactive attitude;
* Passion for safe work practices;
* Red ASIC card (or ability to obtain);
* Current Australian Driver's licence; and;
* Valid work visa;
* Visa sponsorship offered.
