Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced bilingual French‐English International Recruitment Consultant who specializes in the mining industry. The role will support the growth of our recruitment operations across the mining sector, with a particular focus on clients operating in Francophone Africa, French‐speaking Canada, and other international mining markets. The successful candidate will have native or near‐native French language proficiency and possess strong expertise in recruiting mining professionals and a sound understanding of labour markets within Francophone Africa and/or French‐speaking Canada. The role involves sourcing, assessing, and placing highly skilled professionals in technical, operational, engineering, and executive positions for international mining companies.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for mining industry positions.
* Develop and maintain a network of qualified mining professionals across Francophone African countries and French‐speaking Canada.
* Identify, attract, and engage candidates through direct search and headhunting activities.
* Conduct candidate interviews and assessments in both English and French.
* Evaluate candidates' technical competencies, experience, and suitability for client requirements.
* Provide market intelligence and recruitment advice to clients operating within the mining sector.
* Develop and implement talent acquisition strategies for international mining projects.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, clients, and industry stakeholders.
* Manage offer negotiations and support placement processes.
* Monitor employment trends and workforce developments within Francophone mining jurisdictions.
* Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and mining‐related business forums.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
* Relevant qualification or equivalent professional experience in Human Resources, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, Business, or a related field.
Professional Experience
* Minimum of five (5) years' experience in recruitment within the mining industry.
* Demonstrated experience in international recruitment and talent acquisition in francophone countries.
* Proven track record recruiting for technical, operational, engineering, or leadership positions within mining organisations.
Industry Knowledge
* Strong understanding of the international mining industry.
* In‐depth knowledge of mining markets and workforce trends in Francophone Africa, and French‐speaking Canada.
Language Requirements
* Native French speaker.
* Fluency in English (professional proficiency).
* Ability to conduct interviews, negotiations, presentations, and business communications in both languages.
Technical Skills
* Executive search and candidate sourcing.
* Talent acquisition and recruitment management.
* Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment databases.
* Client relationship management and business development.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and cross‐cultural skills.
* Ability to work effectively with international stakeholders and remote teams.
Preferred Qualifications
* Established professional network within the mining sector in Francophone Africa and French‐speaking Canada.
* Experience working with mining companies, specialist mining recruitment agencies, or resource‐sector service providers.
* Understanding of international workforce mobility and employment visa processes.
