We are currently looking for a qualified Registered Nurse to join our Primary Care services at the Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre.
To be eligible to apply, you must have:
* Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
* At least one full year of experience working as a Registered Nurse.
Our location
The Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre (MRRC) is a maximum-security correctional facility for male offenders and is one of 3 correctional facilities within the Silverwater Correctional Complex in Sydney. Inmates who arrive at the MRRC:
* Come directly from court on remand
* Stay at the MRRC while they attend court in the Sydney Metropolitan Area (before returning to their home correctional centre)
* Stay at the MRRC while they await a vacancy at a centre matching their classification.
Most offenders leave the centre within a few months of their arrival, usually because they obtain bail (and release) or transfer centres
The Role
We're currently looking for a qualified Registered Nurse currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and at least one full year of nursing experience.
The Registered Nurse performs reception screening and comprehensive health assessments on persons received into custody whilst assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing management.
