**Position Summary**
Oversees the Merchandising Department and any other areas of the warehouse. Develops and implements sales and merchandising plans for the warehouse. Reviews sales, schedules, and productivity figures of the Merchandising Department. Implements and plans seasonal transitions for the warehouse.
This is a full-time management/leadership position (43+ hours per week)
**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Develop, coach, counsel and direct Merchandising Department employees
- Monitor employee performance
- Provide proactive feedback to promote teamwork and accountability among employees
- Participate in the employment process by making recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination
- Participate in Merchandising Department employee evaluations
- Respond to employee concerns using problem solving skills, tact, and discretion in accordance with the Costco Employee Agreement and other applicable regulations
- Approve timecards and other reports
- Improve, implement and uphold proper Merchandising Department and general safety procedures and standards, including steel safety
- Ensure the warehouse is "Showtime Ready" on a daily basis
- Review all areas of the warehouse when opening and closing to ensure overall readiness for each area
- Monitor employee performance to ensure best merchandising practices, procedures, and standards are followed
- Develop, implement and uphold safety and security procedures
- Review department sales, schedules, productivity figures, zero sales, negative on hands
- Ensure all price changes are done
- Develop and implement sales and merchandising plans for the warehouse
- Communicate with Buyers, Receiving Department, warehouse management, and Inventory Auditors regarding quantity, status, price, delivery, and promotion of merchandise
- Coordinate proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment
- Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery_**
- Computer, printer, pallet jack, step stool, wheeled bin, case alarms, electronic merchandise, cameras, RF gun, cash machine.
Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
Licenses/Certifications: Floor Walk Inspection training (prior to beginning work in department)
Experience/Skills: Staff Management experience
Strong customer service and communication skills
Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and AS400 (preferred)
Basic maths skills
