* Part-time (4days /week) and opportunity, with hybrid/flexible working arrangements
* Generous above award rates + Super + Not-for-profit Salary packaging of up to $18,550
This role ensures organisational compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice at both state and federal levels. The WHS Manager uses data insights and performance metrics to identify trends, improve safety outcomes, and foster a safe, engaged, and resilient workforce aligned with Catholic Care Sydney's (CCS) mission and values.
About The Role
Some of your responsibilities will be:
* Develop and lead the implementation of WHS strategies aligned with the organisation's strategic goals and values
* Provide expert counsel to the executive leadership team on WHS best practice, risk and other WHS priorities.
* Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure WHS is embedded into strategic and operational planning.
* Oversee and manage the organisation's workers' compensation claims and early intervention processes.
* Accountable for regular site audits and safety inspections to ensure facility compliance with WHS standards and building codes.
* Lead the development, review, and implementation of WHS policies, procedures, systems, and frameworks across the organisation.
* Ensure policies and procedures reflect best practice and are inclusive of staff, volunteers, clients, and contractors.
* Perform the duties of the role in accordance with CatholicCare's Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles.
* Undertake appropriate WHS training and comply with Catholic Care WHS policies and procedures. This includes job specific requirements as well as minimising any potential risks and reporting any hazards or incidents you may observe or be involved in.
* Perform other duties as directed from time to time.
About You
To be a successful candidate you will have:
* Proven strategic acumen and systems thinking to develop WHS strategies and frameworks that are aligned and impactful.
* Experience in building trusted relationships with all levels of the organisation, including executive leaders
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a WHS leadership role and previous enterprise responsibility is preferred.
* Demonstrated understanding of WHS and Workers' Compensation legislation (state and federal).
* Proven ability to analyse WHS data and performance metrics to inform strategic and operational improvements.
* Strong experience in risk assessment, safety audits, and incident investigations.
* Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, policy development, and reporting skills.
* Experience delivering WHS training and leading staff consultation mechanisms.
* High level of initiative, planning, and organisational skills.
* Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline.
