Wollongong Hospital (TWH) | REQ | Grade: Visiting Medical Officer Zero Hours Reliever | Applications close: Sunday, 16 November 2025
This Role Will See The Cardiologist Proactively
- Participate in the on-call general and interventional cardiology roster (including call backs for pacing wires, pericardiocentesis, urgent echocardiography, and percutaneous coronary intervention).
- Undertake clinical duties in a professional, timely, and responsible manner.
- Responsible for direct patient care (including inpatients, outpatients, and consultations).
- Provide clinical supervision and teaching of undergraduate and post graduate medical staff.
- Ensure efficient and effective communication with the patient's other health care providers, and family/carers.
- Support and participate in cardiology services at Shellharbour Hospital and Shoalhaven Hospital.
- Assist the Head of Cardiac Services in Clinical & Management duties.
- Ability to perform transoesophageal echocardiograms and implant pacemakers would be an advantage.

Requirements
- Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
- Working With Children Check (WWCC).
- Current AHPRA Registration.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
- Applicants that are expected to receive their FRACP within three‑six months may be considered for this role. Completion of an overseas Interventional Cardiology Fellowship is desired.
