Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Senior Lecturer in Ethics. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering teaching related to ethics and professional practice across the entire MD program.
This is a teaching-focused position that requires a medical qualification and eligibility for registration as a medical practitioner in Australia with AHPRA. You will also need to have knowledge and experience in ethics and professional practice theory and/or clinical practice.
The successful candidate will lead and develop student performance through feedback, coaching, and professional development. They will also contribute proactively to the Medical Pathway, Rural Clinical School, Learning Community, and Regional Clinical Unit.
About This Opportunity
We are offering a part-time (20%), fixed-term position through to 31st December 2025. The base salary will be in the range $134,845 - $155,246 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level C).
You will be based at our Bundaberg Hospital, which offers a unique opportunity to work in a rural setting. You will also have access to various resources and support to help you succeed in your role.
Key Responsibilities
* Teaching: Provide the teaching for the ethics and professional practice components of the MD program, ensuring a high-quality teaching and learning experience for students.
* Research: Maintain personal academic standing, including the pursuit of research and scholarship, and foster a positive research culture within the RCU.
* Supervision and Development: Lead and develop student performance through feedback, coaching, and professional development.
* Service: Demonstrate behaviours that align with UQ values and contribute proactively to the Medical Pathway, Rural Clinical School, Learning Community, and Regional Clinical Unit.
About You
* You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment.
* You should have evidence of a substantial contribution to quality clinical teaching.
* You should have demonstrated experience in delivering medical education materials relevant to small and/or large group settings.
* You should have high-level communication and interpersonal skills.
* You should have a commitment to and understanding of rural and/or regional living and working issues.
