Established in 1973, they were the first Australian university to introduce a flexible admissions system and are recognised as one of the most inclusive universities in the country and have partnered with us to seek for an **Agribusiness Manager** to play an integral role within their research & teaching facilities and farms located near **Perth WA**.
Your Role
Murdoch University farms hosts research and teaching facilities for the School of Veterinary Medicine and the School of Agriculture to provide students with a 'hands-on' approach to learning and research.
As the **Agribusiness Manager** and part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for the improvement of the three farms' design structure and for the achievement of best utilisation of funding.
These farms combined area is approximately 330ha and consists of breeding operations for horses, beef cattle and sheep, to name a few.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to
- Design a dynamic system for assessing the appropriate stocking rates
Identify process improvement across research facilities and farms
Integrate teaching & research activities into a farm management calendar
Optimise opportunity for commercial growth and financial gain
Plan budget allocation, capital, infrastructure, repair & maintenance needs
About You
Reporting to the Head of School of Veterinary Medicine, you will possess highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, and the demonstrated ability work independently as well as fitting seamlessly into a team environment.
This is a **fixed-contract role** that requires travel between the farms, which are located within an hour southeast of Perth.

To be considered for the role, it's important you can address the following criteria:
Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural economics or Agribusiness
Significant agricultural industry experience in process improvement and compliance
Strong commercial acumen
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Experience with computer systems used in farming practices
Knowledge of bio-security compliance, research or project management
