The Role
As a Senior Park Ranger – Natural Reserves, you will:
* Be responsible to manage an outdoor works program to effectively maintain and sustainably develop a variety of reserves and open space within Council's Natural Reserves and waterways
* Provide on site oversight to team members and volunteers
* Be responsible for creating and implementing revegetation plans including planting, fertilising, mulching, weeding, watering, collecting and storing seeds of indigenous plants
* Undertake all day to day parks maintenance functions including inspections, rubbish removal and infrastructure repair
* Support community group programs and activities
This role generally, works Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4pm with a 9 day fortnight and is based at our Nursery, 95 MacKenzie Street West, Golden Square with travel required to other sites.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
* Knowledge of indigenous flora and fauna of the Central Victorian region
* Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to identify and control a range of pest plant and animals
* An understanding of natural environment, biodiversity principles and sustainable land management techniques
* Experience or skills in supervising staff and enjoy working in a team environment
* Ability to effectively maintain a safe and efficient worksite, including an understanding of Occupational Health & Safety principles and practices
The following are required:
* A current driver's licence with Medium Ridged (MR) endorsement and ability to drive a manual vehicle is highly desirable.
* Farm Chemical Users certificate
* Satisfactory police check

Our city offers a competitive salary, with a starting salary of $71,287 (incl Industry Allowance) plus superannuation, and is classified as a Band 4 role.
