Discover it for yourself :Overview of PositionThe Senior Production Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the material, people, and equipment required to build a new product are set up in Salesforce, tracked in Celoxis, and organized on the production line.
As a senior, the expectation is to also influence the project direction so that scalability is considered from the conception of the project.This role involves working closely with the project manager, purchasing, production engineers, R&D, and the production manager.
It is well-suited for a technically-minded individual with high attention to detail and the ability to influence others to meet the business's commercial needs.Role & ResponsibilitiesAssess new products for manufacturability, recommending design changes, production processes, suppliers, and equipment to R&D for scaled manufacture.Support the production team by providing technical expertise to minimize stoppages and meet targets.Research manufacturing processes, evaluate their potential, and engage suppliers to build mutually beneficial relationships.Perform root cause analysis on material failures, production failures, and customer returns; determine repairs or corrective actions; document findings and manage supplier relationships.Perform repairs on products and guide technicians in repairs.Drive continuous improvement, identify systemic issues, troubleshoot, and advise on technical process improvements.Ensure the successful implementation of new products into production.Inspect the first production batch of new or modified components or assemblies.Verify the suitability of production jigs and equipment prior to use.Train production technicians on work instructions for new products.Support the development of Quality Systems to meet company quality targets.Complete detailed assembly training for Production Team Technicians.Qualifications, Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering, or Computer Systems with 10+ years of relevant experience.Established relationships with relevant suppliers (PCBA, BON, Test Fixtures).Experience in assembling and fabricating advanced electronic products.Ability to operate and learn equipment related to Level Tables, Dispensing, PCBA, Motion Simulators, etc.Quick learner capable of developing deep technical skills.Based in Sydney, able to collaborate effectively with teams in Perth and Sydney, both remotely and locally.Strong problem-solving, fault-finding, and debugging skills.High attention to detail with excellent technical documentation skills.Motivated, responsive, and decisive.Knowledge of WHS practices.Experience in production engineering for test systems and measuring/reporting production metrics.Experience in regulated environments such as aerospace, defense, automotive, or medical devices.Basic knowledge of software (Java, C, C++), electronics, and mechanical design.Experience integrating test systems with ERP and databases.Systems engineering knowledge is a plus.Excellent communication skills and ability to grasp complex technical concepts quickly.BenefitsAccess to industry-leading products across exciting projects worldwide.
