Project Engineer – Major Road Infrastructure
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join a major road upgrade project in South East Queensland. This is a long-term contract role offering hands-on involvement in design, procurement, and construction phases within a high-profile project team.

Role Overview
Reporting to the Project Director, you will play a central role in advancing the design phase and supporting the move into construction. Your responsibilities will include technical oversight, ensuring compliance with transport standards, and managing interfaces with other infrastructure works.
Key responsibilities:
* Support project delivery throughout design, procurement, and construction
* Review and coordinate design packages for constructability, safety, and efficiency
* Manage project risks, variations, and scope changes
* Liaise with consultants, contractors, and internal teams
* Assist with tendering, procurement, and contract administration
* Lead interface management with adjoining projects
* Prepare technical reports, briefings, and recommendations
* Mentor and support junior engineers
About You:
You are a senior Project Engineer with proven experience delivering large-scale road or transport infrastructure projects in public sector or regulated environments.
You will have:
* Tertiary qualifications in engineering
* 10+ years' experience in road or transport infrastructure projects
* Strong experience reviewing and managing design packages
* Knowledge of geometric road design, drainage, pavements, structures, and geotechnical inputs
* Experience with tendering, procurement, and contractor engagement
* Ability to manage competing priorities and sensitive stakeholder environments
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Experience mentoring junior engineers
* Current Class C driver's licence
* Eligibility to pass criminal history checks
