Purpose
The Houseperson plays a key role in our Housekeeping Team, assisting room and public area attendants with a flair for being everyone's go-to helper. Key tasks include delivering requested items to guest rooms, ensuring room attendants have a steady supply of linens, towels, and amenities, and handling the collection of used linens for laundering.
Primary Responsibilities
* Prioritize and promptly fulfill guest requests, including delivering amenities, beds, cots, blankets, and pillows, and collecting items from guest rooms as needed.
* Collaborate with all members of the housekeeping team to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
* Gather used linens from guest rooms and transport to the designated area.
* Assist with cleaning guest rooms and public area spaces as requested.
* Handle chemicals and cleaning materials safely, respect guest privacy and security, and report maintenance issues promptly.
* Provide a welcoming service to all guests, assisting with questions, concerns, and offering details about the property's amenities and features.
Skills and Experience
* A warm and welcoming communication style makes guests and team members feel at home.
* An eye for detail and efficient time management skills are essential.
* A physical role requires navigating the property, using internal and external staircases, open pathways, and pushing heavy trolleys and equipment.
* A willingness to collaborate with colleagues from various backgrounds is required.
* Reliable transportation and availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, are necessary.
