Our client, a school based in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne are seeking a Library Assistant to cover a leave period for approx. 7 weeks. You will assist students when required in order to integrate traditional library services within a learning environment and have a direct impact on the educational experiences of students.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting students to use libraries effectively, help with photocopiers and printing and finding information
- Returning and shelving library items including tidying
- Helping to maintain library collections
- Assist, under the direction of the Librarian and/or Library leader, with the day-to-day operation of the library and circulation desk duties which include issuing and receiving library resources
- Processing all print and non-print material
- Supervising students in the library
- Maintaining, processing and cataloguing periodicals, route to relevant departments and maintain periodical displays

- Ability to provide excellent customer service to a wide range of community members
- Flexibility and reliability
- Good problem-solving skills
- A current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
