The opportunity
A unique opportunity has become available within our Development Services team for an experienced Development Engineer to join them on a maximum-term contract until 4 May 2027.
This role blends effective external and internal customer service with high-quality engineering advice and technical skills, providing engineering services to Council and its stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the Development Engineering Coordinator, while working alongside two other Development Engineers and a Cadet, this opportunity is perfect for someone with strong Development Engineering experience looking for a sea-change, or a secondment.
* This is a contract opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
* Base Salary Range: $93,424 to $109,907 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $19,364 motor vehicle allowance + $2,464 retention allowance + civil liability allowance
* You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

* A degree qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent, combined with experience in related field
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of engineering guidelines, standards and practices in relation to engineering planning, design, hydrology, hydraulics, road design, drainage design, civil construction practice, traffic engineering, geotechnical principles and environmental best practice
* Demonstrated knowledge in the application of the Roads Act 1993, Conveyancing Act 1919 as well as relevant parts of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993 and Building Code of Australia
* Experience in supervising civil works and linen release
