KAEFER has an exciting opportunity to work on a major project in the Pilbara region with a Tier 1 mining client. The role will be offered on an 8/6 roster with point of hire being Perth only.
Role
Senior Planner – we are seeking an experienced and highly capable Senior Planner to support the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance, construction and shutdown projects. This role offers the opportunity to influence major SMP scopes, drive schedule performance and contribute to a high‐performance project team.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with key stakeholders and site management to develop, maintain and optimise project schedules.
* Prepare and submit baseline schedules, including Basis of Schedule documentation, and produce weekly/monthly progress reports.
* Monitor site progress through inspections, identify delays and implement recovery strategies to maintain schedule integrity.
* Produce daily productivity and operational reports, highlighting performance issues, risks and site impacts.
* Liaise with clients to address challenges, resolve constraints and support mutually beneficial project outcomes.
* Support cost control, forecasting and progress measurement to ensure accurate reporting.
* Coordinate with SMP, commissioning and operations teams to ensure sequencing aligns with site realities.
* Champion safety by ensuring planning activities reflect safe work methodologies and risk mitigation.
About You
* 8+ years of project planning experience, including at least 5 years in a senior planning role (not maintenance planning).
* Strong SMP construction experience within mining, oil & gas, energy or heavy industrial sectors.
* Degree or trade background preferred, with a solid understanding of multidisciplinary site operations.
* Minimum 3 years of site‐based experience to support accurate sequencing and realistic schedule development.
* Contractor‐side experience essential, with proven capability in developing and managing detailed, resource‐loaded schedules.
* Experience working with lump sum contracts and proactive schedule management.
* Highly skilled in Primavera P6 (essential); MS Project experience desirable.
* Based at Naval Base with potential site travel or rostered site work; uplift applies for site deployment.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to drive schedules and influence diverse teams.
