ConsMin produces some of the world’s highest grade manganese ore and is considered a world leader in manganese mining. Our ConsMin Australian operation (Woodie Woodie) is based in the WA Pilbara, 407 kms south‑east of Port Hedland, with a short two‑hour flight to our well‑equipped camp and mining operation – only a five minute drive from Woodie airport.
We are currently seeking a self‑motivated and resourceful Heavy Duty Fitter to join our team on site at Woodie Woodie. Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent, the successful applicant will be required to perform maintenance on the mining and support vehicle fleet, predominantly Caterpillar and Komatsu equipment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct maintenance activities on mining and support vehicle fleet, applying OEM maintenance practices, procedures and information.
- Perform workshop maintenance and maintain high housekeeping standards in work areas.
- Diagnose and repair machines/equipment in both workshop and field environments.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems when required.
Qualifications
- Minimum C‑class drivers’ licence.
- Current National Police Clearance (no older than 6 months).
- Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic Trade Certificate.
- Ability to understand and interpret OEM manuals and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.
- Excellent diagnostic and fault‑finding skills.
- Product knowledge of Caterpillar (6020B, D10T, 16M, 777G) and Komatsu (PC1250, PC2000) equipment.
- Strong commitment to following health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Air Conditioning Ticket is an advantage.
