Job Description
- Manage internal and external communication channels.
- Coordinate public events and community engagement initiatives.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare reports for management.
- Respond to public and media enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the development and execution of communication strategies.
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community groups.
- Ensure all communication aligns with organisational goals and policies.
- Oversee internal communication channels and internal branding.
- Ensure all documentation is captured into record keeping system.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Public Affairs Officer should have:
- Previous experience in communications, public relations, or a similar role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders and community groups.
- Tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations or Journalism.
- Experience working within an internal communications team.
- Knowledge of public sector processes and communication protocols (preferred).
