About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer who can combine strong engineering expertise with analytical and data modelling skills to deliver high-quality solutions across our data platforms. This is a hands-on role working closely with stakeholders, where you'll shape, design and deliver end-to-end data solutions.
What you'll be doing
* Designing, building and maintaining robust ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory and related tools.
* Developing and optimising data lakes and data warehouse solutions in Azure.
* Working closely with analysts and business teams to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose data models.
* Supporting Power BI developers with efficient data structures, DAX modelling and best practices.
* Driving data quality, performance optimisation, and governance across platforms.
* Collaborating with Product Owners, Testers, and other Engineers in an agile environment.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as a Data Engineer (5+ years ideally in enterprise environments).
* Strong skills in:
* Azure Data Factory
* Azure Data Lake
* Azure Synapse / SQL Data Warehousing
* ETL / ELT design and optimisation
* Solid understanding of Power BI data modelling (DAX, star/snowflake schema, measures, relationships).
* Proficiency in SQL and performance tuning.
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills - able to translate technical detail into business outcomes.
* Bonus: experience with Python, Databricks or Spark for data processing.
