Project Development Manager
The ideal candidate will lead the development of new project management functions, shape delivery frameworks, and mentor a team to manage complex capital works from planning through to completion. The role involves collaborating with clients across public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Strategy
- Define and launch a new client-side project management function within a growing consultancy.
- Design delivery methodology, tools, and governance frameworks to support high-quality project outcomes.
- Project Oversight & Delivery
- Lead end-to-end delivery of major infrastructure or building projects across planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Prepare business cases, funding applications, and project delivery strategies.
- Manage risk, scope, time, cost, and quality across multiple concurrent projects.
- Client Engagement
- Operate as the key point of contact for clients, acting in a trusted advisor capacity.
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments involving government bodies, consultants, contractors, and community representatives.
- Team Development
- Build and lead a high-performing team of client-side project managers and coordinators.
- Mentor junior staff and establish a culture of performance, collaboration, and accountability.
- Governance & Assurance
- Provide oversight and assurance for project reporting, compliance, and milestone delivery.
- Implement robust controls for reporting, cost tracking, change management, and project health checks.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 12+ years of experience as a client-side project manager, with a proven record of delivering capital works in consulting, advisory, or infrastructure environments.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects across all lifecycle phases including planning, design, procurement, delivery, and commissioning.
- Previous experience in client-side advisory or consultancy environments, supporting major infrastructure, building, or public sector projects.
- Strong leadership and commercial acumen, with experience building and mentoring teams.
- Solid understanding of delivery risk, stakeholder management, and project governance.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Construction, Architecture, or Project Management.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder presence at executive level.
