The Role
Katanning Senior High School is seeking a passionate and adaptable Secondary Generalist Teacher to join our dynamic team. This exciting role will primarily involve working with our Year 7 and/or Year 8 cohort, focusing on building strong foundational skills in literacy and numeracy to support student success across all learning areas.
The successful candidate will enjoy flexibility in shaping the role based on their skills, interests, and expertise. You will be supported by a collaborative leadership structure, including dedicated Heads of Learning Areas in Mathematics, English, Science, and Humanities (MESH) who will provide guidance and mentoring around curriculum and instructional strategies. Our Deputy Principals and Student Services team will assist with assessment processes and any special educational needs (SEN) reporting requirements, ensuring you have the resources to thrive.

Teachers and School Administrators employed at Katanning Senior High School in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3 000 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment.
The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school.
Mobility appointments for permanent, metropolitan and south west teachers
Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school* may elect to undertake this role as a 3-year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3-year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role, or transfer permanently into this school.
