Are you ready to play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial and operational success of major energy projects?
About the Role
CS Energy is seeking a Project Controller – a proactive and analytical professional who can translate complex project data into actionable insights that drive cost performance, schedule integrity, and strategic decision-making.
As Project Controller, you'll be responsible for guiding the financial and performance management of capital projects across CS Energy's portfolio, reporting to the Project Controls Manager. You'll ensure that cost control, forecasting, scheduling, and risk management processes are rigorous, transparent, and aligned with corporate and project objectives.
You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, finance teams, and contractors to maintain visibility of budgets, commitments, progress, and risks so that the business can make informed, confident decisions.
Developing and implementing cost control and project performance systems.
Managing project cost reporting, forecasting (ETC and EAC), and variance analysis.
Monitoring financial commitments, budgets, and accruals in SAP and other systems.
Supporting integrated project planning, risk management, and schedule performance reviews.
Preparing and analysing monthly cost and risk reports for senior leadership.
Facilitating risk review meetings and maintaining the project risk register.
Driving governance and process improvements across project controls and reporting frameworks.
This Brisbane-based position offers flexibility and opportunities to travel to CS Energy sites as required.
About You
You're a detail-oriented and results-driven project professional who brings structure, clarity, and insight to everything you do. You thrive on collaboration, enjoy working with numbers and data, and have a strong understanding of how projects succeed – financially and operationally.
A degree in Project Management, Business, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
Proven experience in project controls, cost engineering, or project accounting.
Proficiency in large ERP systems (we use SAP) and integrated project management systems.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and present financial and scheduling information clearly.
A proactive, solutions-focused approach, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
Join Us
