About the role
We are looking for Fixed Plant Operators, to operate equipment including monitoring and inspections in a safe and efficient manner.
This is a great opportunity for experienced, driven and safety focused Fixed Plant Operators to join Rio on a permanent full-time basis with a family friendly 8:6 roster.
Reporting to the Supervisor Plant Operations and working in a challenging and exciting environment within Fixed Plant – Operations you will be:
* Operate fixed plant assets, carry out routine inspections and conduct manual handling associated with basic maintenance and inspection of the plant
* Conduct routine activities to ensure the safe and reliable operation of assets, including undertaking basic fault find and diagnosis
* Work in the field, monitoring equipment, cleaning, hosing and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
* Operate mobile plant equipment as required by your leader
* Actively foster and communicate a positive safety culture to promote safety awareness and compliance, encouraging prioritisation of safety in all activities and operations
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, evaluating and implementing improvement opportunities utilising a range of Rio Tinto best practices
About you
* A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
* Demonstrated experience operating fixed plant
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
* Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a small team, demonstrating flexibility to business requirements
* Previous mining experience working in the field, monitoring equipment and operating fixed plant assets
