A bit about the role
As the Director City Planning and Infrastructure, you’ll be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, driving the strategic direction and long-term vision of one of Victoria’s fastest-growing municipalities.
Leading a diverse portfolio, including planning, economic development, design, construction, sustainability, open space and infrastructure, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the city’s growth, liveability, resilience and innovation.
As well as being a sector leading leadership role, it provides an opportunity to influence city-shaping decisions, sponsor community-focused outcomes, and foster a culture of collaboration, excellence and continuous improvement across Council. What you’ll deliver
- Provide strategic leadership to the City Planning and Infrastructure division, ensuring high-impact outcomes for the community.
- Shape and deliver long-term planning, infrastructure, and sustainability strategies aligned with Council’s vision and growth objectives.
- Collaborate with the CEO, Executive Team, and Council to drive organisational transformation, innovation and service excellence.
- Lead and inspire a high-performing leadership team across planning, infrastructure, design, sustainability, and investment.
- Represent Council in key partnerships with government agencies, industry and community stakeholders to influence positive change.
What you’ll bring
- Proven executive leadership experience in a complex organisation, with a strategic mindset and a track record of delivering impactful outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of planning, infrastructure, and sustainability within a local government or similar environment.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A collaborative and values-driven leadership style that empowers others and fosters a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Psychometric Testing.
- A curious, collaborative and inclusive community mindset.
