Epworth Geelong | Waurn Ponds
Permanent Part‐Time | 2 days per week

Epworth Geelong has an exciting opportunity for a Ward Clerk to join our 32‐bed Medical/Oncology Unit in a permanent part‐time role. This position offers the chance to work within a comprehensive medical oncology service, supporting patients undergoing cancer treatment and contributing to high‐quality, individualised care.
About the Role
Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth day‐to‐day administrative operations of the ward. You will work closely with nursing and medical teams, providing outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and staff while supporting a culture of collaboration, empathy, and excellence.
Key Responsibilities
You will make an impact by:
* Providing efficient administrative support to the nursing team
* Supporting the Nurse Unit Manager with ward and team administration
* Managing and maintaining medical records
* Ensuring timely and accurate management of patient information systems, including admissions, transfers, and discharges
* Delivering a welcoming and professional front‐line experience for patients and visitors
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a customer‐focused individual who genuinely enjoys helping others and contributing to high‐quality clinical care.
You will bring:
* Previous experience in medical administration (hospital experience preferred)
* Knowledge of medical terminology
* Experience using patient information or hospital management systems
* Strong IT skills and confidence using multiple systems
* Excellent communication, organisation, and time‐management skills
This role is ideal for an experienced Ward Clerk or medical administrator who enjoys being at the heart of a clinical team and making a real difference to patient experience.
