About Marine Rescue NSW
">
We operate under the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act, with a vision of being a world-class volunteer rescue service. Our mission is to prevent injury and death on NSW waterways by providing marine search and rescue response, monitoring and responding to marine radio traffic and delivering safety education programs.
Equipped with a contemporary fleet of rescue vessels and backed by state-of-the-art technology and training, we stand as an industry leader in the southern hemisphere. With more than 3,500 active volunteer members across 46 geographic units, we are deeply embedded in local communities along the NSW coast and priority inland waterways.
A key aspect of our role is supporting critical infrastructure that protects lives. We offer opportunities for personal and professional growth, including career progression into managerial roles within the organisation.
This is a pivotal position working closely with the IT team and broader operations, integrating mission-critical systems and supporting volunteer members across NSW. To qualify, you will bring hands-on experience with radio communications and IP network systems, alongside a project management style approach to coordinating technical work.
We value proven capability in systems administration and managing virtualised environments, particularly VMware. Additionally, familiarity with VHF/UHF radio systems, practical experience in the maritime or emergency services sector, understanding of the radio and telecommunications regulatory environment in Australia, and experience maintaining virtualisation environments are highly desirable.
This is a unique opportunity for someone ready to support critical infrastructure that protects lives while continuing to grow their career across technical domains. We offer a competitive salary plus super, not-for-profit salary sacrifice package, learning opportunities, flexible work arrangements and a strong team environment.
In addition, you will enjoy coming to work in arguably one of the best office locations in all of Sydney - with waterside views, ample free parking and only a short distance to the Cronulla Train Station.
