Senior Public Affairs Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Public Affairs Officer to join our Strategic Communications & Engagement team.
As a key member of our team, you will contribute to public affairs activities and help shape strategies that maintain and enhance our position with the community and stakeholders.
You will manage traditional and social media content and engagement, monitor community sentiment, and improve the connection between us and the community.
* Tertiary qualifications in journalism, communications, public relations or similar field along with experience in a similar role.
* Demonstrated communications capability and ability to translate complex information into publicly accessible content.
* Good knowledge of public affairs, media communications and stakeholder engagement disciplines.
* Understanding of local government context and working environment.
* Strong working knowledge of social media and digital platforms.
* Ability to relate well to the public, elected members, media, management and staff.
