We have an amazing opportunity for an experienced Workforce Planner. This position is based in our new venue in Geelong and reports to the Workforce Planning Manager. Playing a critical role in ensuring that Nyaal Banyul is optimally staffed to deliver outstanding client experiences across all functions and events.
Set to open in July 2026 on the Geelong Waterfront, Nyaal Banyul will be Australia's newest convention and event centre. Operated by the Victorian Convention and Exhibition Trust (VCET), this premier venue features a 1,000-seat theatre and 3,700 square meters of versatile event space, ready to host everything from community gatherings to major conferences and entertainment events.

About the role
Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective workforce planning strategies that align staffing levels, skills, and availability with the venues operational and business needs.
Working collaboratively with operational leaders and stakeholders to balance service quality and cost efficiency, while ensuring compliance with industrial agreements, workplace legislation, and organisational policies.
What you're here to do
* Collaborate with department leaders to translate staffing needs into effective workforce plans that match skills, venue setup and client experience.
* Work with Department Managers to avoid employees working excessive hours or consecutive days and ensure they have appropriate breaks between shifts.
* Develop and manage rosters using Humanforce, aligned with event forecasts and operational needs.
* Attend inter-departmental meetings as necessary or as requested by the Workforce Scheduling Manager.
* Maintain effective utilisation of staff on an event-by-event basis.
* Use data and analytics to optimise labour efficiency and reduce overtime.
* Provide regular workforce reports and dashboards to management, highlighting key metrics and emerging issues.
* Ensure shift data is accurate and timely to support payroll processes and workforce cost analysis.
* Communicate with casual employees regarding individual rostering issues.
What you will need
* Advanced proficiency in Humanforce or similar workforce management platforms.
* Familiarity with industrial instruments such as Modern Awards (General) Award or enterprise agreements.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a focus on influencing decisions through insights.
* Proactive and solutions-focused, especially in high-pressure scenarios.
* Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
