Position Title: Youth AOD Residential Rehabilitation – Team Leader Location: Rowes Bay, Townsville Classification: SCHADS Level 5 Employment Status: Full-Time Why This Role Matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia's largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs.

About the Role The Team Leader is responsible for providing strong leadership and operational oversight to a team of Youth Workers delivering high-quality, client-centred services to young people participating in the Townsville Youth Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Residential Rehabilitation Program.
This role ensures the safety, wellbeing, and development of young people while maintaining compliance with The Salvation Army (TSA) policies, procedures, and values.
As a member of the leadership team, the Team Leader actively contributes to service excellence and continuous improvement in line with TSA's Mission.
Key Responsibilities Lead, develop, and support a team of Youth Workers to deliver effective, trauma-informed, and youth-focused services.
Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, performance management, and rostering of Youth Workers.
Coordinate and maintain daily program activities to ensure a safe, supportive, and structured environment for participants.
Ensure all service delivery aligns with TSA policies, procedures, Youth Model of Care, and accreditation requirements.
Actively participate as a member of the service leadership team.
Promote and uphold the Mission and values of The Salvation Army in all aspects of service delivery.
How You Will Make an Impact Ensure services are delivered in accordance with the Youth Model of Care, TSA guidelines, and accreditation standards.
Implement and oversee service delivery systems and tools, including SAMIS, SolvSafety, and Kronos.
Deliver high-quality services that meet client needs, including supported self-administered medication, meaningful daily activities, and warm admissions and exits.
Ensure effective clinical governance, risk management, and continuous quality improvement practices are in place.
Confirm that clients complete WHS inductions where required .
Support the Facility and Administration Team Leader with oversight of maintenance and operational issues.
Provide line management and regular supervision to Youth Workers.
Lead personal goal setting processes and support staff in achieving professional development goals.
Foster strong, collaborative, and productive team relationships.
Review service delivery data, evaluation outcomes, and feedback to inform improvements.
Support frontline implementation, review, and refinement of practice models and service processes.
Ensure accurate and timely recording and maintenance of service delivery data.
Lead and promote best practice and professional development within the team.
What You Will Bring A degree qualification in Social Work, Welfare, Community Development, or a related field OR demonstrated high-level sector knowledge and skills gained through relevant experience, service, and professional development.
Current Working with Children Check (state-specific).
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
