About the Role
This is a nursing position in an aged care environment where you will be working with elderly residents, providing them with high-quality care and support. Your primary responsibility will be to direct and deliver excellent nursing care to our clients, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
You will work closely with the Care Manager and Residential Services Manager to lead and promote social and physical engagement among residents. You will also assess resident's condition and functional ability, identifying potential risks and managing them effectively.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Leading and supervising support provision for daily living in accordance with each resident's care/service plan
* Leading and promoting social and physical engagement in all resident interactions
* Assessing resident's condition and functional ability and ensuring risks are identified, managed and evaluated, discussed with relevant staff/resident or representatives and included in their care and service planning
* Ensuring optimal use of medications, monitoring for adversity and administering in a timely and safe manner
* Providing leadership, direction, support, mentoring and coaching to Personal Carers, Enrolled Nurses, Hotel Service staff, Lifestyle, Maintenance and Administration staff on each shift
* Ensuring there is a clear and succinct handover from shift to shift and relevant documentation in the 7 day handover sheet correlate with the progress notes, alert notification form, care plan suggested change forms and risk management plans
About You
We are looking for individuals who share our passion for delivering high-quality care and support to our residents. To succeed in this role, you should have a Bachelor of Nursing degree and current AHPRA registration as an Registered Nurse. Previous experience working as a Registered Nurse in an aged care environment is highly desirable.
Our ideal candidate will possess sound communication skills, able to speak in a manner that older people can understand, and read written instructions and write clearly and concisely. They should also have exceptional time management skills to manage their own workload and support other staff members.
Strong problem-solving skills and a high level of understanding of dementia-related issues are essential in this role. Additionally, knowledge of how to apply AN-ACC and excellent contemporary best practice clinical knowledge, including medicines used in aged care, are highly valued.
