Job Description
We are seeking skilled Mechanical Engineers to join our dynamic team in Newcastle, Australia. The successful candidates will be based on a Day Shift Monday - Friday roster for a project up to 6 months duration.
The selected candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs and overhauls of mechanical underframes from the rail industry.
1. Use precision measuring equipment (verniers and micrometers) and large torque wrenches to perform complex mechanical tasks.
2. Collaborate as part of a dynamic team to achieve shared goals.
3. Diagnostics, inspections and interpreting technical drawings will also be required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A Trade Qualified Mechanical Fitter with a recognized Trade Certificate is essential.
* A solid understanding of production, manufacturing or process environments is highly regarded.
* Rail maintenance experience is desirable but not essential.
* Forklift and First Aid training are advantageous.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills are necessary.
Benefits
* $61 / hour - Day shift rate (casual).
