Our client is actively seeking experienced and competent Driller/Blasters to join their team. The right candidates will have a robust background in drilling and blasting operations, displaying exceptional skill, safety awareness, and attention to detail. Your key role will be to execute drilling and blasting tasks with precision, ensuring safe and efficient operations that contribute to the overall success of the projects.
To be considered for this position, applicants must:
1. Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in drilling and blasting roles.
2. Provide supporting documents, such as payslips, employment evidence, a valid passport, and police clearances.
Key Responsibilities:
3. Operate drilling rigs and equipment to drill holes for blasting and quarrying operations or construction projects.
4. Handle, store, and transport explosive materials safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
5. Plan, lay out, and execute blasting operations, calculating the quantity and type of explosives required for each project.
6. Monitor and adjust drilling parameters to optimize performance and ensure safety.
7. Collaborate with project teams to coordinate blasting activities, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to schedules.
8. Conduct pre-blast inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
9. Maintain accurate records of drilling and blasting activities, including details of explosives used and results achieved.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to drilling and blasting.
Qualifications:
11. A minimum of 5 years' experience in drilling and blasting operations, preferably in construction or mining industries.
12. Solid understanding of explosive materials and their handling, storage, and transportation requirements.
13. Ability to read and interpret blasting plans and technical documents.
14. Physical fitness and the capacity to work in challenging outdoor conditions.
15. Proficiency in English, both verbal and written, for effective communication within the team and with stakeholders.
