**The job**:
The Product Manager will lead efforts to develop opportunities in mining and mineralogy and should be experienced in the materials characterization field. This position will focus on the Scanning Electron Microscope Analytics of the materials science product portfolio. You will work within a broader team that delivers efficient methods, processes and protocols to assist our customers in their day-to-day work of delivering fast, precise, accurate, solutions and standardised workflows. You will plan and direct development projects whilst investigating new potential workflows. You will work closely with the Product Marketing, Business Unit management and the R&D teams to ensure new product developments are better able to meet our customers' needs in a way that is consistent with solving the customers sample characterisation needs. Finally, in close collaboration with Product Marketing and Product Sales, you will deliver both sales training and support customer sales situations.
This role is **fully remote** (working from home), and can be based anywhere in Australia, South Africa, United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Brazil or Argentina. Some international travel may be required - up to 25% per annum, including overnight stays.
**What will you do?**
- Collect, compile, and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for testing speed, accuracy, and precision of workflows.
- Perform internal and customer workshops and training.
- Define and lead execution of key customer collaborations that are required for workflow solution development and validation.
- Coordination, development and submission of conference abstracts supporting marketing programs for new product introductions.
**Who we are looking for**:
- University degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific field such as Material Science, Geoscience, Physics, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Proven understanding of electron microscopy or materials characterization techniques
- Understanding of Mining and Mineralogy Electron Microscopy customer use cases
- Happy within both an industrial or corporate environment
- Experienced in interacting with highly technical customer groups, with the ability to communicate sophisticated technical concepts to a variety of audiences
- Demonstrated ability to systematically develop new and improved methods and protocols used in a failure analysis, and materials characterization experimental environment
- Should be proficient in basic Microsoft office software products (i.e., excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Good verbal and written communication skills to facilitate good communication with partners, customers, product marketing, r&d and engineering
- Fluent in English
