About You:
Experience and qualifications
* Cert II in Animal Care or Cert II in Animal Care Services or similar
* 3+ years knowledge and experience in animal handling.
* Valid drivers licence and clean driving record
* A tech savvy approach to technology and a willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and procedures
* A sharp eye for detail with top-tier communication and interpersonal skills,
* Ability to work independently under pressure
* Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to providing the best care for animals.
* Familiar with the Gold Coast suburbs for logistics and coordination.
* A great listener who makes people feel heard, whilst also knowing how to set and maintain professional boundaries.
* You are comfortable discussing fees, payments and costs in a clear and respectful way.
The Role
My Kind Of Vet is offering a permanent part time position on our Mobile Van. The position is currently available for Monday and Thursday with the possibility of some Saturdays, however, this may change in the future.
This role is perfect for someone who has experience in animal care or handling, ideally with a certificate in animal care, animal handling, or a related field. You'll be responsible for safely driving the van while supporting our veterinary team and helping ensure animals are handled calmly and kindly. A genuine love for animals, confidence around them, and a people-focused attitude are essential, as this role is all about care, trust, and connection in the communities we serve.
My Kind Of Vet has a great team of vet nurses, receptionists, vets and a practice manager that are passionate about patient & client care working on an innovative vet business model: a fully established clinic offering mobile consults.

Key responsibilities
* Prepare the mobile van and equipment for At Home consults, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are packed.
* Maintain a clean and organized mobile van at all times.
* Accurately prepare and handle medications and treatments as directed by the Veterinarian.
* Ensure medications and equipment is safely stored and organised within the van.
* Safely restrain animals during exams and vaccinations with 100% compliance to safety protocols.
* Ensure all animals are treated with compassion and handled appropriately in a home setting.
* Assist with sample collection (e.g. urine, feces, swabs) under supervision
* Label and store samples correctly for transport or in-van processing.
* Greet and communicate with pet owners in a friendly, professional manner
* Manage the schedule during mobile rounds and provide timely updates to clients where needed.
* Keep accurate and up-to-date client and animal information in Ezyvet.
* Ensure waste disposal and biohazard protocols are followed at each site.
* Monitor, restock, and organize supplies in the van.
* Setup and pack down of the van at the beginning and end of each day.
* Ensure equipment is charged and ready for the next day's use.
* Conduct daily checks to confirm fuel, safety, and cleanliness standards are met.
* Report any incidents, hazards, or equipment concerns immediately.
