**About the role**
The Procurement Manager will set up and lead a new central procurement function for the organisation. Leading a small team, the Procurement Manager will contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice procurement vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. This includes forecasting price and market trends, oversight of all purchasing policies and procedures, managing risk, and providing insight to the broader business for areas where improvements and cost savings can be realised. A core component of this role will be managing supplier relationships, and proactively managing potential changes of balance in buyer-supplier power.
**About you**
You are a degree-qualified mid-career procurement leader with proven experience in setting up central procurement functions from scratch in growth-oriented (organic and/or M&A) environments. Ideally with some exposure to the construction, infrastructure, manufacturing and/or transport sectors, you are comfortable taking a hands-on approach in a highly operational environment. Commercially minded and outcomes oriented, you are energised by the potential to put your capabilities to use within Victoria's fast-growing circular economy. Note that this is a highly visible on-site role primarily based in Epping in Melbourne's norther suburbs.
