ROSTER: 8/6 (available in FIFO or Residential)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Norton Gold Fields is seeking a qualified and experienced Underground Mine Manager to lead our underground operations teams and manage all underground activities to ensure budgets and forecasts are achieved safely.

The Underground Mine Manager is back-to-back with the Alternate Underground Manager and therefore will carry statutory responsibilities. In this role you will lead the underground mining department in planning, coordinating, schedule and controlling all underground activities within the constraints of agreed budgets. The role includes medium to long-term planning and continuous optimisation of LOM designs, schedules and mining methods and processes.

KEY DUTIES AND TASKS

* Manage all underground activities to ensure budget forecasts are achieved safely.
* Drive and promote a positive safety culture onsite through initiatives that include visible leadership, safety and regular inspections.
* Carry out all the relevant statutory duties outlined in the Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
* Complete monthly financial accruals and reporting.
* Review operational safety, production and cost performance and make improvements where required.
* Complete cost estimations and Budget preparations as required.
* Identify and implement business improvement opportunities, including future operations and processes.
* Contribute to the professional development of graduate and junior mining engineers through, mentoring, coaching and training.
* Monitor and review performance measures, and succession and career paths for all direct reports.
* Uphold and promote the NGF core values through leading by example.
* Any other duties as required.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

* Bachelor of Mining Engineering Degree (Essential)
* Current unencumbered C class Western Australian Drivers Licence (Essential)
* WA First Class Mine Manager Certificate (Essential)
* Statutory qualifications (essential)
* Satisfactory NPC Clearance (Essential)
* Valid work visa, permanent residency or Australian citizenship (Essential)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* 10+ years underground mining operational and technical experience.
* Demonstrated experience in leading and managing operational and technical teams.
* Understanding of mine geology and Geotech.
* Working knowledge of all relevant operational Health, Safety, Environment requirements.
* Mining development and production practices implementation and improvement.
* Risk assessment and control.
