About the role
Patient Services currently has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join our team!This position is responsible for processing of emergency attendances and emergency and elective admissions to Grampians Health Ballarat. It includes reception, patient registration, capture of patient movements and insurance data and supporting the patient journey administratively.
The role calls for applicants with a high degree of flexibility, attention to detail and willingness to learn. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team are also required. Good computer and time management skills are essential and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
The successful applicant will have ability to work across 24/7 rotating roster including ED reception, Admissions and Private Patient Liaison and Flexibility to accept additional shifts to cover unplanned and planned leave.

Key Responsibilities
1. Adhere to relevant departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and processes.
2. Process inquiries and telephone requests, ensuring timely and appropriate action.
3. Ensure accurate and efficient input of patient information into IBA webPAS.
4. Confirm and update all demographic data on patient presentation.
5. Capture patient movements, including ED presentation, admission, transfer, and discharge, in real time.
6. Maintain strict patient confidentiality in all aspects of your work, complying with GH Privacy Policy.
7. Demonstrate competency in using hospital systems, including IBA, BOSSnet, and Microsoft Office.
8. Develop and maintain knowledge of patient claim types, including Medicare, private health insurance, compensable, DVA, NDIS, and overseas.
9. Accept payments and provide quotes when necessary.

10. Excellent customer service skills.
11. Attention to detail in data capture.
12. Strong team player, able to provide support and encouragement to peers.
13. Ability to adapt to change and embrace new opportunities.
14. High-level computer skills, accurate data entry, and proficiency in various computer applications.
15. Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute.
