The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Operations Manager – Recoveries to join our Claims Division in our Newcastle office. This is a full-time position reporting to the National Claims Manager.
As the Operations Manager – Recoveries, you will lead and manage UAA's debt recovery function, ensuring timely, ethical, and cost-effective recovery. You will develop and execute recovery strategies, oversee legal and non-legal collections processes, manage salvage funds collection, manage third-party relationships, and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Experience and Skills
* 5+ years in debt recovery, collections, or credit risk management, including 3+ years in a senior leadership role
* Strong understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks
* Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage high-cost portfolios
* Strategic, commercial, and data-driven mindset with strong analytical thinking
* Effective negotiation, decision-making, and leadership skills
* High level of integrity, ethical judgment, and professionalism in sensitive financial situations
* Skilled in change management, process improvement, and adapting strategies as needed
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and lead as a team player
* Claims knowledge and experience
* Highly organised with attention to detail and flexibility in dynamic environments
