Transport Companion
As a volunteer for this program, you will provide more than just safe transportation – you will offer companionship, dignity, and peace of mind.
* You will operate vehicles to transport one or multiple clients per trip, locally and regionally, on weekdays.
* Provide a safe, courteous, and respectful transport experience.
* Ability to assist with mobility aids and safely help clients board and disembark (lifting up to 15 kg).
* Engage in conversation and activities that are appropriate to the client or group.
* Respect the privacy, rights, and dignity of clients and maintain confidentiality with respect to information obtained during the delivery of service.
This program is designed for older individuals and those experiencing transport disadvantage. It helps clients attend non-urgent medical appointments, social outings, or essential errands such as grocery shopping.
We are seeking warm, dependable volunteers who can relate to and empathize with a diverse range of people, including those from different cultural backgrounds and life experiences.

* Participate in mandatory learning and development to keep your knowledge, skills, and practices up-to-date in the aged and community care sector.
* Commit to upholding the principles outlined in the Aged Care Code of Conduct and any subsequent updates.
* Demonstrate cultural sensitivity by respecting diverse backgrounds and ensuring that all interactions are inclusive and free from discrimination.
