AGF Seeds in on the lookout for a motivated, detail orientated person who is passionate about agriculture to join our Research & Development team.
As a trial assistant at AGF Seeds you will be responsible in helping your team trial and assess pasture, forage, and broadacre genetics at our research farm in Smeaton, Vic, and across a number of satellite trial sites. You will take an active role in evaluating genetics that are grown throughout Australia currently, and in choosing the varieties of the future.
The role would suit an experienced trial operator or someone looking to gain experience in Agriculture Research & Development. For the right candidate we will mould the role around your skill set and provide training and opportunities to further your career.
Our R&D team is expanding and there will be opportunities for the right person to take on more responsibility such as designing and managing our trial program.
Things you might find yourself doing during a regular day at AGF Seeds.
* Assist with trial planning and preparation including seed packing and trial designs
* Assist with trial site preparation (cultivation, site marking out)
* Assist with sowing, spraying, nutrient application and harvesting activities for forage and broadacre trials
* Assist with trial site maintenance activities
* Undertake trial site research assessments
* Assist with planning and logistics for trial operations at main research site and at satellite trial sites
* Operate and assist with maintenance of agricultural machinery and small plot equipment
* Transport trial machinery and small plot equipment on site and to satellite sites
* Maintain accurate records of trial site operational tasks
* Administrative tasks including record keeping, research assessment data entry, harvest data analysis and reporting

* Ability to Work Solo or in a Team
* Preferred Experience with Agricultural Machinery (tractors, spray units, ect)
* Maintain work health and safety standards
* Represent AGF Seeds Trademark PAKT (Passionate, Approachable, Knowledgeable, Trust)
* Driver Licence (bonus for truck licence)
* Experience in safely working with chemicals or willingness to obtain chemical users permit/undertake training
