Job Location
Based at Ravenhall Correctional Centre in Melbourne's west, providing 75 custodial mental health beds and assessment/outpatient services within a maximum-security forensic mental health complex. We operate across 12 of Victoria’s 14 prisons, with expansion plans underway.
About the Role
The Psychologist will work within Ballerrt Yeram-boo-ee, supporting prisoners with mental illness as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include conducting court-ordered psychological assessments and engaging in scholarly activities and research.
Key Duties
1. Deliver comprehensive psychological services and treatment advice.
2. Conduct specialist assessments and prepare reports as needed.
3. Provide individual and group interventions.
4. Participate in patient risk assessments and management.
5. Contribute to clinical practice and program development.
Candidate Profile
* Experience in mental health or forensic mental health settings is advantageous.
* Knowledge of clinical forensic psychology, including forensic assessments and offender interventions.
* Experience working with offenders, particularly those with personality disorders.
* Understanding of psychological approaches for male patients in forensic settings.
* Familiarity with relevant legislation, mental health, and criminal justice systems.
Qualifications
* Masters or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (APAC accredited) or Forensic Psychology (APAC accredited).
* Registration with AHPRA.
* Registration of qualifications on eCredential is required.
