After an explosive growth phase, we're now looking for a Finance Manager to build, own, and lead our finance function.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll create structure, drive strategy, and become the financial engine behind a company expanding across Australia, Canada, and beyond.

With rapid growth comes operational complexity.
We now manage:
High client volumes
Large recurring revenue cycles
A significant accounts receivable backlog
International clients (especially Canada)
Share-for-services arrangements
R&D projects
Contract variations and renewals
We need a Finance Manager who can take ownership of contracts, invoicing, receivables, share-based billing, renewals, compliance, documentation, and back-office structure.

Client experience
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Receivable
Monitor and follow up overdue invoices (email + phone)
Build strong relationships with client accounts teams
Negotiate payment plans where needed
Maintain a weekly Aged Receivables dashboard
Escalate early and reduce debtor days across the business
2. Contracts Administration
Issue Client Service Agreements and track signatures
Maintain a central contract register and renewal calendar
Manage special conditions, variations, and deliverables
Align editorial/video outputs with contracted scope
Coordinate closely with Sales to ensure compliant onboarding
3. Share-Based Billing (ASX, TSX, CSE)
Manage all share-for-services deals
Maintain a Shares Receivable Register
Liaise with listed companies and transfer agents
Coordinate board resolutions and issuance paperwork
Follow up weekly on outstanding share allocations
Ensure compliance with debt-settlement rules
Record accurate AUD valuations for tax purposes
4. R&D Tax Incentive Support
Maintain R&D evidence folders throughout the year
Track internal hours and contractor costs
Collect documentation for prototypes, tests, and automation projects
Work with R&D consultants to keep claims audit-ready
5. Budgeting & Forecasting Support
Maintain a rolling 12-month financial model
Track renewals, cancellations, expansions, and opportunities
Reconcile contracts into forward revenue
Maintain cost tracking and cashflow visibility
Provide weekly financial updates to leadership
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
CA/CPA (or equivalent) with 5+ years' experience
Experience in a startup, scale-up, or fast-moving SME
Strong understanding of IFRS and international tax considerations
High attention to detail, strong commercial judgement
Excellent communication and prioritisation skills
Proficiency in Xero + Google Sheets/Excel
Experience with ASX trading or global markets highly desirable
Ability to work independently with confidentiality and initiative
