These positions are Canberra based, with conditions of service similar to those in the Australian Public
Service, including superannuation.
**THE OPPORTUNITY**
The L6 Psychological Administration Officer will lead an Organisational Psychology support team and
be responsible for undertaking general administration that is sensitive and complex in nature. They
manage and guide others and exercise autonomy in managing a key area of general administration
responsibility. They exercise initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the
advice in relation to complex problems and may assist in strategic planning, program and project
management and policy development. This role will have team leader and resource management
responsibilities.
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
The following is an overview of key responsibilities and tasks for a **Level 6 Psychological**
**Administration Officer**:
Lead and manage an Organisational Psychology support team that will make decisions and
provide advice and support to operational and non-operational staff and managers, in
accordance with best practice and relevant policy and guidelines.
As part of a team, manage and make effective use of individual and team capabilities to
provide a specialist service focused on supporting operational and non-operational outcomes.
Team Leader responsibilities which may include; supervising and guiding team members,
assistance in strategic planning, setting tasks and priorities and managing workflows and
assistance with building team capability through coaching, performance feedback or
encouraging career development.
Contribute to operational compliance, including risk management and mitigation.
Manage and contribute to reporting for key internal and external stakeholders and assist in
formal reporting as required.
Responsible for the delivery of work that is sensitive and complex in nature within general
administration in line with agreed outcomes.
technical knowledge to provide accurate and specialised advice and to deliver on allocated
tasks and projects.
Use expertise, good judgement and in-depth knowledge of the organisation, branch, role and
functions to anticipate and develop key improvements, resolve issues and queries as they arise
and to make decisions.
Maintain awareness of longer term strategic, political or operational outcomes and the work
area impact.
ensure currency and enable analytical collaboration and cooperation, and by contributing to
the development of standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, technical capability and
training.
Establish, enhance and promote effective client/customer and internal/external stakeholder
relationships to obtain information and ensure alignment with organisational priorities,
promoting own agency's objectives and contributing to cross-agency planning to achieve
operational outcomes.
**EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
The following education, qualifications and/or experience will be highly regarded:
Qualifications and/or relevant experience;
Experience in administrative roles;
Effective organisation and prioritisation skills, strong time management and the ability to
manage and coordinate multiple concurrent projects;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
Experience in developing and maintaining successful client / customer relationships and
maintain relationships at all levels.
