Due to an internal staff transfer, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Return to Work Coordinator to join Colin Joss & Co Pty Ltd, who is a Self-Insurer under the NSW Workers Compensation Act.

As the Return to Work Coordinator at Joss, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the wellbeing and rehabilitation of employees transitioning back to the workplace after an illness or injury. In this full-time position based in Shellharbour, NSW, you will be responsible for coordinating and facilitating the return to work process, ensuring a smooth and successful reintegration for our valued team members.

What you'll be doing

* Collaborate with injured or ill employees, their healthcare providers, and managers to develop and implement customised return to work plans

* Monitor and track the progress of return to work programs, making adjustments as needed to support a successful transition

* Provide guidance and support to managers on their responsibilities and best practices for supporting employees during the return to work process

* Maintain accurate and detailed records of all return to work cases and outcomes

* Identify opportunities to improve the return to work program and make recommendations to management.

Additional responsibilities will include:

* Actively developing and promoting Injury Management and Return to Work processes across our business functions;

* Assist in the management of all work and non-work related injuries;

* Assist in the identification of suitable or pre-injury employment;

* Monitor the progress of an injured employee’s recovery and potential to RTW;

* Monitor the injured employee’s performance and compliance against the current RTWP to ensure appropriateness and make adjustments as necessary within the confines of the current medical restrictions;

* Establish and maintain Rehabilitation Case Files;

* Assisting in the training and education of managers in all aspects of Injury Management and Return to Work policies and procedures;

* Ensuring compliance with Legislation and the Self Insurance requirements.

The ideal candidate will:

* Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as occupational therapy, human resources or workplace rehabilitation

* Proven experience in a return to work coordination or case management role, ideally within a similar industry

* Strong understanding of workers' compensation legislation, injury management, and return to work processes

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders

* Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a solutions-focused approach

* Be prepared to travel around the surrounding area.

Experience in a Self-Insured environment is preferred, however not essential.

Remuneration package by negotiation based on above criteria. A motor vehicle & mobile phone will be provided to the successful applicant in order for duties to be carried out.
