The PositionALS Coal currently has opportunities available for a Casual Coal Quality Technicians, Physical Laboratory Testing (PTL) based at our site in Mayfield, NSW.
The position will require some weekend work as well as shift work (day, afternoon, night).

Position RequirementsEnsuring that all work is carried out in a safe & efficient mannerHandling coal samples and processing them according to instructions & current best methods.Loading and unloading coal samples from various plant streams.A range of physical tests including sample preparation, sizing, crushing, dividing and sample storage.Transfer validated results into the reporting systemCalibration and maintenance of specialised equipment.RequirementsA valid driver's licenseA strong focus on safety, quality and teamworkStrong numeracy and literacy skillsAbility to organise work, multi-task and meet tight deadlinesAbility to work independently without supervisionComfortable with safe manual handling duties, including repetitive liftingCompetent within a strong safety cultureEagerness to learn and adapt to new systemsPrevious coal sampling experience would be an advantage but not essentialFlexible and able to perform shift work and weekend work as requiredNOTE: Full training will be provided to successful applicants. EligibilityTo be eligible to work at ALS you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or either hold or be able to obtain, a valid working visa.
