A leading organisation in the heavy industry sector is seeking an experienced Mobile Plant Mechanic to join their field service team on a temp‑to‑perm basis. This is a great opportunity for a skilled technician who enjoys working autonomously, building strong customer relationships and delivering high‑quality outcomes on site.
Your new role
As a Field Service Mobile Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair and support of mobile plant equipment across multiple customer locations. Working with a high degree of independence, you will ensure equipment reliability, uphold professional standards and deliver exceptional service in the field.
* Perform fault diagnosis, assembly, repair, testing and commissioning of mobile plant equipment.
* Maintain all tooling, equipment and vehicles in excellent condition.
* Provide technical input to assist with job estimates, quoting and resource planning.
* Actively support Quality and Business Management System processes.
* Provide excellent customer service and problem-solving
* Take ownership of allocated customer sites and planned work schedules.
* Manage customer expectations while minimising disruption to production.
* Assist customers with preventative maintenance planning and critical spare parts lists.
* Identify opportunities to reduce downtime and improve service outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
* Qualified Diesel Mechanic, Mobile Plant Mechanic or similar trade background.
* Strong technical, diagnostic and field service experience.
* Exceptional communication and customer‑service capability.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
* A proactive, safety‑driven and professional work ethic.
